UNIONS OF MUNICIPALITIES AS ENABLERS OF LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENET
- The project aims to launch a LED assessment process based on a participatory and inclusive approach over a period of 9 months in three UoMs, namely Tyre, al-Fayhaa, and Metn.
- The project organizes the efforts of LED stakeholders and engages them in undertaking an assessment of the economic structure and LED governance systems in their respective areas.
- The economic structure assessment will help UoMs identify the constraints and opportunities affecting their economic development.
- The governance systems assessment will equip UoMs with an understanding of the regulatory and institutional frameworks governing LED at the national and local levels.
- Production of a policy paper and concrete recommendations on how to navigate the LED effort in the UoMs.
